Message from President of the State of Israel

This is the first forum connecting the talented, the committed and the hopeful from many corners of the world. Each of you brings a unique vantage point, shaped by your distinctive environments, backgrounds and beliefs.

And although the differences are vast, as the title of this gathering indicates, global recovery towards the shared future, it is encouraging to see you come together in a common cause, united by the shared desire to build a better future.

Similar to China, the gracious host of this form, Israeli is also an ancient people, rich with history and tradition.

At the same time, both China and Israel are forward-thinking, enterprising nations that imagine a future and invest energy and resources in realizing a vision of innovation and discovery.

In the extended conversation I had the privilege of holding with President Xi just a few months ago, we discussed the trade partnership Israel and China share, as well as avenues for future cooperation.

This forum is an excellent example of constructive, collaborative engagement, which has become abundantly urgent over the past three years.

We all learned how collective fates are truly intertwined with one another, whether addressing the wellbeing of our families or the health of this precious planet.

Forums such as this one are an irreplaceable mechanism for advancing a global community of leaders, while dedicated to promoting solutions to our shared challenges.

So dear friends, it is true that we are asking so much of you, our younger generation, but we do so because we recognize that each of you are not only the finest and the brightest, you’re also the most devoted and conscientious.

You’re here because you care, because you are invested in working towards a greater good.

I have no doubt that the cross-border brainstorming and the connections that each of you form today will generate and enhance tolerance, dialogue and collaboration throughout the globe.

I commend the Center for China and Globalization for establishing and cultivating this important dialogue.

And I send my warm wishes to the Chinese people.

I wish you a productive and enriching experience, which you will each carry inside you when you go forward.
